Frisbee for Life was created by Rob “Frisbee Rob” McLeod in January 2018 to build on the work he has been doing in schools for the last 10 years.
With many schools and organizations moving towards a Physical Literacy based program, Rob saw the opportunity to incorporate the work he was doing with frisbee into a platform and team of people to reach more kids and have more impact.
Frisbee for Life is about teaching the possibilities that exist with the sport of frisbee (flying disc). There are 10 disciplines recognized by the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) and many more frisbees games that have been made up over the years.
The disciplines are:
- Ultimate – events
- Beach Ultimate – events
- Disc golf – events
- Freestyle – events
- Self-Caught Flight (SCF) (MTA & TRC)
- Overall Competition (Distance, SCF, Freestyle, Disc Golf, Accuracy, DDC and Discathon)
- Canine Disc (not recognized by WFDF but I include due to its history and participation size)
You can find out more at http://www.agelessgame.com/frisbee-games about what the frisbee games are, as this page is constantly being updated.
